Ideas for a couples’ getaway in Cambrils
Some getaways don’t need to take you far to feel special. A stroll by the sea at sunset, a dinner for two or simply waking up to a view of the Mediterranean can be enough to help you switch off from the daily grind.
Why choose Cambrils for a couples’ getaway?
Cambrils has a special advantage: you can enjoy a well-rounded holiday without having to travel far. The sea, fine dining, nature, culture and leisure are all within easy reach. The seaside atmosphere blends with ancient city walls, museums and archaeological sites.
In Cambrils, there’s plenty to do, but also plenty of places where you can simply do nothing at all.
Strolling around the harbour and watching the sunset
One of Cambrils’ most iconic spots: its harbour.
A stroll around the harbour area gives you a better understanding of the town’s historic connection with the Mediterranean and brings you closer to places linked to the fishing industry. The fish market and the arrival of the boats are part of the town’s seafaring identity and help you understand why gastronomy is so important in Cambrils.
The Torre del Puerto, also known as the Torre de los Moros, is an old 17th-century watchtower and one of Cambrils’ most recognisable landmarks.
If you’d like to make the most of the moment, you can sit down for a drink before looking for a restaurant for dinner.

Take a stroll through the Parc dels Pescadors
Next to the harbour is the Parc dels Pescadors, a green space covering approximately 5,000 m² with gardens, palm trees, Mediterranean and tropical vegetation, and a variety of paths to stroll along.
It’s a particularly pleasant spot to get away from the hustle and bustle of the seafront promenade and take a short break. You can easily include it in your tour of the harbour, especially if you want to combine a morning stroll with lunch or a quiet afternoon.

Exploring the seafront promenade
Cambrils boasts a long seafront promenade that connects different areas of the coast and can be explored either on foot or by bike. It’s an activity that requires no booking or fixed timetable. You can wander aimlessly, stop at a beach, have a coffee or sit facing the sea.
For a romantic getaway, we particularly recommend doing this first thing in the morning or in the late afternoon, when the light is at its best and the atmosphere is more peaceful. And if you fancy a cycle, you can hire bikes and explore the coastline in a different way.

Choose your favourite beach
Cambrils has a variety of beaches, each with its own atmosphere. These include Regueral Beach, right in the centre, and other options such as Horta de Santa Maria, El Cavet, La Llosa, El Dorado and l’Ardiaca. For a romantic getaway, you might want to seek out a slightly quieter spot, take a book with you and spend a few hours simply enjoying the Mediterranean.
Because it doesn’t all have to be about sightseeing. A morning on the beach, a swim together and a leisurely lunch are also part of a romantic getaway.

Discovering the town: the most historic side of Cambrils
After enjoying the sea, it’s time to discover a lesser-known side of Cambrils. The old town still boasts narrow streets, traditional houses, corners filled with plants and various features that evoke the town’s past.
One of the central spots is the Plaza de España, surrounded by arcades and with a much quieter atmosphere than the tourist areas along the coast. From here, you can continue your stroll through the streets of the old town and head towards the ancient city walls.
La Vila also offers the chance to discover part of Cambrils’ history through its ancient walls, the entrance gate and other defensive features such as the Tower of the Hermitage of the Mare de Déu del Camí, from where you can enjoy views of Cambrils and its surroundings.
A great plan for a couple looking to combine a stroll, history and some beautiful panoramic views.

Take a trip back in time at the Roman Villa of La Llosa
If you enjoy discovering the history of the places you visit, why not pop along to the Roman Villa of La Llosa? This archaeological site, situated near the harbour, preserves the remains of an ancient Roman coastal villa inhabited between the 1st century BC and the 4th century AD, and is listed as a Site of Cultural Interest.
It makes for a unique addition to your itinerary and is a great option for a morning out

A romantic getaway to Parc Samà
A few kilometres from Cambrils lies one of the most special places for a day out as a couple: Parc Samà.
This historic botanical garden combines vegetation, ponds, paths and various structures to create a space with real character. Its history is linked to the Samà family’s long-standing ties with Cuba, and the grounds retain that air of an exotic, romantic garden. It’s perfect for spending a few hours strolling at a leisurely pace and doing something a bit different during your getaway. What’s more, you can round off your visit to Parc Samà with a vermouth or olive oil tasting, or a picnic.
